Register for LLC Sign Language
Each semester, you will need to register for LLC Sign Language to access the study resources the LLC has available. It's very easy to register! Just log in to your Student Portal and add the LLC Sign Language CRN like you would any other class. We also have detailed instructions and a list of current LLC CRNs linked from the LLC homepage.
LLC Facilities
The LLC Open Lab has 71 student stations, each equipped with state-of-the-art touchscreen computers, headsets, webcams, and fast internet.
Sign students can utilize this space for recordings. If you need a quieter space free of distractions, let us know! We can usually accommodate Sign students in an area without others walking in the background.
In addition, many LLC resources can be accessed from off campus. If you need assistance, visit us on Zoom in the !
Mango Languages
Mango Languages is a software program (available on the computer or in a mobile app) that uses a conversation-based approach to teach dozens of languages, including a new Sign Language course! Follow the instructions above to register for the LLC and then go to the Mango Languages page to get started.
Language Partners
Prefer to study with a buddy? Language Partners allows you and another Sign Language student work together to practice Sign Language and explore new vocabulary through specialized activities. Apply for Language Partners on our website to get started today!
On-Campus Software
Visit us in 77-1005 to access three additional Sign software programs exclusively available on campus in the LLC. Students at all levels will appreciate the ASL Video Dictionary and Inflection Guide, as well as the Fingerspelling Tutor. Upper-level and Interpreting students will also Classifiers: A Closer Look to practice signing with classifiers.
Movie Reports
The LLC Sign Language Canvas has a variety of movies available to view for free. If you watch a movie and complete the Movie Report, you can even earn LLC attendance hours from home!
