Architectural Materials and Specifications	ARCH 142	Students will understand basic construction materials including their characteristics and proper uses. Students will apply measuring, cutting and nailing skills on lumber of various length to frame a floor joist system. Students will create a light frame wall section graphic to scale demonstrating appropriate material assemblies.
Building and Zoning Codes	ARCH 145	Students will be able to follow typical government procedures in obtaining zoning approval and building permits of simulated building project. Students will be able to determine the applicable current building and zoning code titles/editions for any given location.
Fundamentals of Construction Inspection	ECT 87	Remember building codes and construction standards applicable for a particular building type and location. Students will understand improper wood framing field practices and defective field connections of steel framing.
Legal Aspects of Construction	ECT 17	Analyze applicable licensing requirements, construction business organizations, legal terminology and legal responsibilities Analyze contractual legal relationships among owner, architect contractor and sub-contractors
